1 CORINTHIANS 13:4-7
Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
"This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you."
COLOSSIANS 3:8-9, 12-14
But now put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and foul talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old nature with its practices.....
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, and patience, forbearing one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
EPHESIANS 4:25-27, 29-32
Therefore, putting away falsehood, let every one speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. Be angry but do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,
and give no opportunity to the devil. Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for edifying, as fits the occasion, that it may impart grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, with all malice, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings.
1 TIMOTHY 6:6-8 But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into [this] world, [and it is] certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: For they [shall be] an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
These chains are glorious neck ornaments, not chains of slavery.
Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband [also], and he praiseth her.
Children, obey [your] parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
HOW SERIOUS IS GOD ABOUT THIS?
If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and [that], when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:
Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place; And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son [is] stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; [he is] a glutton, and a drunkard. And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
Cursed [be] he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.
The eye [that] mocketh at [his] father, and despiseth to obey [his] mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.
Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.
"For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death."
EVEN JESUS WAS SUBJECT TO HIS PARENTS
And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
